The star of Sydney Kings wing Jaylin Galloway is pointing straight up after a massive month on the court.

After back-to-back strong performances against Cairns and New Zealand, in which he scored a career-high 10 points against the former, Galloway helped the Boomers book their spot at the 2023 FIBA World Cup by downing Kazakhstan 97-50 in Friday's Asian Qualifier

"Being a part of the Boomers again was awesome, as it's always an honour to represent your country," said Galloway, who recorded two points, two rebounds and one steal in 13:58 during the Asian Qualifying fixture.

"I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new guys I hadn't played with before and building that culture and cohesion with them.

"It was a great experience, especially learning plenty of aspects to add to my game off the court as well as trying to be more vocal on the court - all of which I'll try and add to my game moving forward."

The Townsville product is confident this stretch can help him reach new heights in NBL23 and help the Kings' championship defence.

"It's been a really solid month for myself, once I finally got my body right after my injury setback," the Milton High School (US) alum said.

"I got a real confidence boost from those two most recent games before the FIBA break, which has only been added to by this Australian experience.

"This all stems from me staying ready and being ready to do whatever the team needs me to do when I step on the court - which the start of the season when I wasn't playing, I used to effectively take notes and see the role the coaches exactly have for me.

"Our coaches continue to tell me to play aggressively, both on defence and with the ball - taking chances to make plays when they come my way - which I exactly what I'll be aiming to do for the rest of the season."

Galloway and his Kings return to the NBL court on Sunday, for game two of this season's Adrian Hurley Cup series against Illawarra at Qudos Bank Arena - tipping off at 4pm AEDT.
