Sydney Kings rally the city with ‘Banners Aren’t Raised Alone’ campaign
The Sydney Kings have launched their official NBL Finals campaign, “Banners Aren’t Raised Alone,” a city-wide rallying call for Sydney to get behind the team as they chase championship glory.
Narrated by Australian Olympic Bronze Medallist and NBA player Matisse Thybulle, the hero film recognises the journey the team has taken this season and the role the city now has to play in the pursuit of championship banner #6.
After battling through a 3–5 start, injuries and constant external pressure, the Kings fought their way back to top of the ladder, securing the minor premiership.
But banners aren’t raised alone
Sydney Kings CEO Mark Thompson said the campaign was designed to recognise the fans who have supported the team all season and invite the wider city to be part of the moment.
“Finals are where everything comes together,” Thompson said.
“This team has earned the right to be here, but championships are never won by a group alone.
“Sydney has always shown up when the stakes are highest, and this campaign is about reminding people that the energy in Qudos Bank Arena matters. When this city gets behind a team it creates something truly special.”
The campaign film features Thybulle delivering a powerful voiceover from the perspective of the Sydney Kings fans, acknowledging the pressure of expectations in a city like Sydney and the responsibility that comes with representing it.
Across the Finals period, “Banners Aren’t Raised Alone” will roll out across broadcast, social media, in-arena moments and fan activations, all designed to bring Sydney into the team’s championship pursuit.
The Kings are urging fans across the city to play their part by filling the stands at QBA and creating the atmosphere that defines playoff basketball.
Because championships take a city, and Banners Aren’t Raised Alone.
