Kings ready for opening round battle with 36ers
The Sydney Kings will tip-off their NBL25 this Sunday at the first-ever HoopsFest event in Perth.
As part of the basketball extravaganza in Western Australia, the Kings will take on the Adelaide 36ers on Sunday, September 22 in their opening-round fixture.
Sydney coach Brian Goorjian is excited to be part of this historical event.

"I've been in the league a long time and HoopsFest is one of the best basketball initiatives I've experienced in this country," said Goorjian, who believes his side learnt plenty from their time at the NBL Blitz.
"It's an exciting concept to get both the men's and women's teams playing in the same spot and give the fans the chance to watch numerous different basketball competitions.
"Not only that, it's great they've added an extra game, which is something that the league should look at doing more of in the forward."
In terms of the match-up itself, Goorjian is keen to take on one of the competition's 'surprise packets'.
"Adelaide, as well as Brisbane, have been the league's surprise packets to date," he said.
"The 36ers have been playing well in all their pre-season games and they all seem to be on the same page with their new coach (Mike Wells).

"Add in that unknown element of new import signing Montrez Harrell - who if he plays anything like he did in the NBA will cause big problems in the competition - and the 36ers present a very strong challenge for us.
"We know Sunday is going to be tough but I'm confident in our group and the work they've put in to date."
The Kings' first home game of the NBL25 is on Sunday, September 29 against NSW rivals Illawarra.
Tickets to the 2.15pm game at Qudos Bank Arena are still available here.
