"We definitely cashed in on our opportunity to grow as a group and it's given us a good idea of where we're at heading into round one."

Sydney Kings coach Brian Goorjian believes his team's stint on the Gold Coast for the NBL Blitz was a positive one, with the team showing plenty of signs of growth across the three games.

During the week-long tournament, the Kings recorded wins against Cairns and New Zealand, while losing to South East Melbourne.

"The biggest takeaway for me, first and foremost, is how hard and tough this league is going to be," Goorjian said.

"The level of competition and standard has gone up from last season and there's no easy games - with each team having deep and talented rosters.

"From our perspective, it was great to get a feel for that and get ours comfortable playing at that level, not to mention the invaluable bonding time we've had on the road together.

"We definitely cashed in on our opportunity to grow as a group and it's given us a good idea of where we're at heading into round one."

Next up for the Hoop Capital side is this weekend's inaugural HoopsFest and their opening round fixture against Adelaide, from 2.30pm AEST on Sunday, September 22.

"One of the keys we'll be working on this week [ahead of HoopsFest] is the ability to handle pressure on the offensive end," the six-time NBL championship-winning coach said.

"Then defensively, getting tighter with our schemes, as well as getting guys more comfortable playing together.

"We know it's going to be a tough challenge and we're all pumped to get this thing started on the right note."

The Kings' first home game of NBL25 is on Sunday, September 25 against the Illawarra Hawks - tipping off at 2.15pm AEST.

Tickets for the Qudos Bank Arena showdown, between the two Adrian Hurley Cup rivals, are still available here.
