Basketball doesn’t stop, and the assessment of NBA prospects ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft is beginning to come front of mind.
Although next year’s draft is still 16 months away, the talent identification of next year’s draft class is already well underway, and a trio of NBL24 Next Stars have featured in ESPN’s first full mock 2025 draft.
Brisbane’s Rocco Zikarsky has long been hailed as a first round talent, and draft expert Jonathan Givony currently has the shot-blocking superstar being taken at pick 29, just inside the first round.

Sydney’s Alex Toohey featured heavily across a range of mid-season mock drafts for the 2024 class and was even elevated into the status of first-round prospect by The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie.
While Toohey is eligible for this year’s draft, Givony currently has the Centre of Excellence graduate slated as a second-round pick next season.
Adelaide’s Trentyn Flowers showcased the athleticism and talent that had previously seen him labelled as a potential first round prospect in 2024, however a string of unfortunate injuries towards the back end of NBL24 have prevented him from continuing to prove his ability.
The 18-year-old is currently projected to be selected with the 51st overall pick next season.
ESPN’s most recent 2024 mock draft featured a string of eligible Next Stars. Alex Sarr was projected second overall, Bobi Klintman 23rd, Mantas Rubstavicius 52nd, Ariel Hukporti 55th and AJ Johnson 58th, which means all eight NBL24 Next Stars feature on upcoming mock drafts.
