To some, Tim Soares' impact during his maiden season at the Sydney Kings may have flown under the radar.
But that isn't the case for Chase Buford and his coaching staff, who recently named the Brazilian big man the club's Michael Wrublewski Coaches’ Award recipient at the 2022-23 Hoops Capital presentation.
"We have some very experienced coaches who have helped me develop as a player this year," said Soares, who is averaging 10.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 0.87 blocks as the starting centre during the side's 31 fixtures this season.

"I’m thankful for their investment in me and the recognition of my hard work."
Upon reflecting on his first season with the Hoops Capital club, Soares is loving his time in the harbour city and can't wait to try and help the side try and win their fifth NBL Championship against New Zealand.
"The first season with the Kings had been great for me," he said.
"My wife and I love the city - it's been a great place for me to develop and show my basketball skill.
