The Sydney Kings and Flames’ joint number one ticket holder, Premier of NSW The Hon. Mr Chris Minns MP, has thrown his support behind the club’s first-ever Pink Hoops, which will raise funds for The McGrath Foundation.
Ahead of the Sunday, January 14 Hoops Capital double-header at Qudos Bank Arena – which will build off last season’s Pink Game in support of Tiana Mangakahia – Minns was presented his very own Pink Hoops jersey from the Flames, during a photoshoot alongside the team and McGrath Foundation ambassador and director Tracy Bevan.
“Breast cancer touches so many people, not only those that are battling the disease but their families, friends, and colleagues,” said Flames co-owner and chairman Paul Smith.
“Most Australians have been touched in some way.
“The Sydney Flames and Sydney Kings call upon our fans and the entire Sydney basketball community to unite in solidarity on January 14 at Qudos Bank Arena in support of Tiana [Mangakahia] and The McGrath Foundation.”

As the harbour city side’s number one ticket holder, Minns is proud to be involved in the club’s great initiative – which hopes to assist The McGrath Foundation’s goal of 250 breast care nurses by 2025.
“I couldn’t be prouder to support the Pink Hoops round,” Minns said.
“The McGrath Foundation teaming up with both the Sydney Flames and Sydney Kings is good for basketball but more importantly will raise funds and awareness for the vital work the McGrath Foundation does in helping women across the country going through breast cancer.
“Bring the family, bring the kids and head out to the game on January 14 – it’ll be a big day for a great cause.”
Tickets to the hoops extravaganza, that will see the Flames take on Perth and Kings battle New Zealand, are still available here.
On the day, fans are encouraged to wear pink, with fans able to purchase their own Pink Hoops Flames jerseys here.
If you can’t attend the event, you can still support the club’s partner, The McGrath Foundation, here.
