Sydney Kings coach Chase Buford was frank with his assessment of his side, following their overtime loss to Cairns on Monday.
Appearing in control of the match, once star forward Xavier Cooks fouled out, the Snakes rallied and went on a 24-10 run in the final 7.33 minutes (including the fourth quarter and overtime) to secure the six-point victory.
"We didn't handle the adversity and tough breaks down the stretch very well," Buford said during the post-game press conference.

"That's my immediate reflection on the game.
"We had our opportunities to win the game but turned the ball over way too much.
"We were obviously too physical on the floor too, sending Cairns to the line 36 times."
The defeat also brought an end to the Kings' NBL road win record at 17 games.
"It was a 40-plus-year-old record that we beat by four or five games, so let's see if anyone else can now step up to the mark and beat it," he said.
On December 4 we will be hosting our first double-header of the season with the Sydney Flames at Qudos Bank Arena!

Echoing his coach's thoughts, young gun Jaylin Galloway believes Monday's round eight fixture is one his club threw away.
"I feel as they didn't beat us, rather we gave them all the opportunities to win the game - which all comes back to effort," said Galloway, who recently represented the Boomers in Kazakhstan.
"It's frustrating but we got to close out games better.
"So we'll reflect on it, watch film and see what we did wrong and try and fix it."
The Hoops Capital side will return to Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday to take on Adelaide, which will be the first part of the club's double-header - with the Flames and Spirit match-up to follow.
