Kings ready to protect top spot against Breakers

Top spot on the NBL ladder will be up for grabs when the Sydney Kings travel to Spark Arena and take on the New Zealand Breakers on Thursday.
Although the Hoops Capital side (who are 9-3 on the season) got the better of the Breakers in round six, Kings swingman Jaylin Galloway knows there are areas where his side needs to improve to record their 10th victory on NBL23.
"As a team, we still need to work on gang rebounds and making sure we crash the boards," Galloway said.
"As well as that, I feel like the main keys [to defeating New Zealand] are not letting them be more physical than us and working harder than them, to come up with all the 50/50 balls."

While those are focus areas for the reigning champions, the Townsville product is confident that they can build on Sunday's win against Adelaide - which pitted him against his older brother Kyrin.
"It was a great win on Sunday," the 19-year-old said.
"It was a solid bounce-back for the team from a tough loss in our last game against Cairns.
"Further to that, it's always enjoyable playing against my brother - it was especially cool to share the court with him at the same time too."

Galloway, since returning from Kazakstan with the Australia Boomers, has become a key component to Chase Buford's bench group - an aspect the win hopes to build on as the season progresses.
"I feel like the Boomers gave me a confidence boost and I feel I’ve been doing good when I’m put on the court," said Galloway, who recorded seven points, two rebounds and one steal in Sunday's win.
"It's just about doing everything the team needs me to do, no matter what it is to help us win."
The Indigenous Round clash tips off at 5.30pm AEDT Thursday, broadcast live on ESPN via Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
