He may not be in a Sydney jersey yet, but Kings fans were afforded their first look at star import signing DJ Hogg this morning as he suited up for the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Summer League.
Hogg dropped the first bucket of the game – a catch-and-shoot corner three – ending the game with seven points and three rebounds as the Raptors fell to the Chicago Bulls.

“It was good to get out there and have a little fun with the team,” Hogg said post-game.
“It didn’t come up how we wanted it to, but it was a good experience and a good way to start the Summer League off.”
The versatile forward is one of a raft of new faces set to turn out for the Kings this season. In fact, the reigning champions could well have a whole new starting five following on from their title last season.
As it stands, Hogg is the only import currently contracted to the back-to-back champions, but Sydney has sent a presence to Vegas to scour the Summer League for the best possible talent to bring in alongside him.
“It’s a couple of big positions we need,” Hogg said of the Kings’ recruitment drive.
“We’ve got to see what happens out here and who they want, but I have faith in our front office staff and I’m looking forward to who we get.
“I’m really excited to see what this program’s about. They’re coming off back-to-back championships, so we can hopefully go for the three-peat.”

While Hogg is entering a brand new city and a brand new team, there will be at least one familiar face when he touches down in Sydney - former Philadelphia 76er Jonah Bolden.
“I got to play with him a little bit in the G-League with the Sixers,” Hogg said of his fellow high-profile signing.
“He’s a great guy, a great teammate, very versatile, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Hogg and the Raptors will next take to the Summer League floor on Monday, July 10 at 5:30am AEST.
