The Sutherland Sharks announced on Tuesday they have signed Sydney Kings big man Jason Spurgin for the 2025 NBL1 East season.
Fresh off his debut NBL season, King #253 Spurgin will team up with Sydney assistant Shaun Roger at the Sharks during the NBL1 campaign.
"I signed with the Sharks because when I sat down with the Kings coaches, it was clear that this off-season was very important to my development as a player," Spurgin said.

"Being able to play for Shaun and being in Sydney, working with the other coaches as well is definitely the best for my individual development.
"[Further to that] I am hoping to work on my whole game while with the Sharks - being able to play games will be the best thing for me, as it will allow me to try new things and work on my all-round game."
Spurgin went on to say his rookie season in the NBL with the Hoops Capital club has set him up for a huge debut campaign in NBL1 East.
"My time with the Kings has had a big impact on my development and has put me in a great spot to perform with the Sharks," the Toowoomba product said.
"Having that continuity with Shaun, firstly at the Kings and now at the Sharks, will allow my transition between the two to be smooth and ensure I'm ready to play come the start of the NBL1 season."
Spurgin will join the Sharks team in early March to begin preparations for round one where Sutherland will battle the Penrith Panthers on opening night at the Shark Tank on Saturday, March 29.
