Sydney Kings centre Tim Soares and his Brazilian national team are on the verge of qualifying for the 2023 FIBA World Cup after two big wins during this week's international window.
Victories against the United States and Mexico have Brazil needing just one win from their final two matches, set to be played in February, to qualify for August's tournament in Indonesia/Japan/the Philippines.

"The team played very well together," said Soares.
"We played as a team and really did a good job exploring our opponents' weaknesses.
"These two wins were much needed in our qualifying and now we are one win away I believe from qualifying."
The 25-year-old Soares has now returned to Australia and will line up for the Hoops Capital side in their round seven showdown with NSW rivals Illawarra on Sunday at Qudos Bank Arena.
