"I've always loved competing and this week is no different, I'm just trying to soak it all in and show what I'm capable of."

Just over one month remains until the 2025 NBA Draft and Sydney King #240 Alex Toohey has well and truly solidified his stocks, after a strong showing at the Combine in Chicago.

The NBL Next Star was one of the standouts during the event's scrimmages and even drew exciting praise from ESPN's Jonathan Givony.

Speaking during the Combine, Toohey thoroughly enjoyed the experience of competing against some of the world's top basketball talents.

"There's obviously heaps of talented players here trying to prove they belong at the next level," said Toohey, who credited the Kings to preparing him for this next challenge in his career.

"I've always loved competing and this week is no different, I'm just trying to soak it all in and show what I'm capable of, which I've been happy that I've been able to.

"Honestly, I'm excited for this whole process and I hope it ends well for me."

As well as proving on the court, Toohey explained what he could bring to a NBA team if they were to draft him in New York on June 26.

"Obviously size [on the wing] is a big part of what I bring to the table, while also being that shooter who can space the floor," the Canberra-born talent said.

"Then my ability to make plays off the dribble, both for me and my teammates, while defending multiple positions can be an asset to a team - as everyone wants versatile players in today's NBA."
