The league-leading Sydney Kings will be out to secure their third straight win at Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday night when they host the South East Melbourne Phoenix.
As tough as both Melbourne and Tasmania were over the past two weeks at Qudos Bank Arena, Hoops Capital big man Tim Soares knows the fourth-placed Phoenix present a different proposition - despite dropping their past two fixtures.

"We want to keep improving our defence [every time we step on the court]," said Soares, whose side lost a double-overtime thriller to South East Melbourne last month.
"That will be a big key against Phoenix.
"Our defence last game was not up to par with what our defence needs to be it will be a good test for us."
While Simon Mitchell's side comes into the round 14 on the back of two consecutive losses, Soares believes his harbour city side is starting to click on all cylinders - as the competition heats up towards finals.
"We did a great job playing as a team [against Tasmania]." the Brazilian international said.
"We put together an impressive 40-minute performance -that's what we need to do every night."

Further to that, the team-first approach of the 25-year-old, who is averaging 9.94 points, five rebounds and close to a steal and block per game, optimises why Chase Buford's side is in the mix to defend their NBL22 title.
"I’m happy that our team has been finding ways to win," The Master's Mustangs alum said.
"My job is to do everything I can to help win."
