As well as securing their fifth NBL championship, the Sydney Kings also etched their names into the record books another way on Wednesday night.
With the Hoops Capital side recording a second straight sellout at Qudos Bank Arena, to the tune of an all-time NBL crowd (18,124), it brought their total across the three Championship Series fixtures to 49,318 - the highest in the competition's history.

"To turn around that sort of crowd, in less than three days, is nothing short of remarkable," Hoops Capital CEO Sean Nicholls said.
"We thought the 'LaMelo game' crowd was a record we could only dream of breaking but we've topped it back-to-back games at Qudos Bank Arena, which is a testament to our loyal members and fans for their support across our 14 regular season and five finals home games.
Thank you to every one of the 49,318 who came out to support the Sydney Kings, who helped us defend the crown and go back-to-back.

"Every single one of them helped us secure our second straight championship on Wednesday and no doubt they can all see we're building something really special here in Sydney.
"I can't wait to do it all again next year, as we try to go back-to-back-to-back."
These figures by the harbour city also contributed to the new Championship Series record, with 67,811 fans attending the enthralling five-game series against the New Zealand Breakers - eclipsing the old mark of 45,971 in 2019.
