The Sydney Kings will look to make it two road wins in as many weeks on Friday when they travel down to Tasmania to tackle the JackJumpers.
Mahmoud Abdelfattah's side head into the round two showdown between the NBL22 grand finalists on the back of a 15-point win against Illawarra.
The star of the victory was Koaut Noi, who hit six triples on his way to 23 points.
"In the first game of the season, you're always anxious to get it over and done with," Noi said.
"The preparation all week leading up to a game is most important and I just had to stay ready for my name to be called and that’s what I did - hand down, man down."
Noi, who will be looking to build on that player-of-the-game performance against the Ants, knows Scott Roth's troops present a whole new challenge - especially at MyState Bank Arena.
"This Friday presents a big challenge and the key is being the aggressor from the start," the Newcastle junior said.
"I believe once they feel our pressure, they’ll fold - simple."
As happy as the 25-year-old was with his game in the season-opener, he knows there's room for him and the team to keep improving.
"[There's] definitely some room for improvement," the Texas Christian University alum said.
"We have such a talented squad and once we all start using our individual strengths on the defensive end to get stops, our offence will be a piece of art."
Friday's clash with tip-off at 7.30pm AEST on ESPN via Kayo Sports.
