Zone 34 Round 15 injury update

XAVIER COOKS

Xavier Cooks will be moved to the active player list for this Saturday’s Round 15 game against the Illawarra Hawks, however he will not take to the court.

NBL League rules require a player to be active on the NBL scoresheet for a minimum number of the Club’s regular season games in order to maintain NBL Finals eligibility. Knowing the challenges this season has presented, the Club is proactively activating him for the final eleven regular season games to prevent any unforeseen circumstances that may impact his eligibility as the Kings continue their push for a Finals berth.

Xavier has progressed well with his rehab over the past month and has cleared several predetermined milestones that dictate his return to the court – we anticipate a return to play date of mid-May with exact confirmation to come closer to that time.

JARELL MARTIN

Martin remains day-to-day due to knee soreness. He will be a game time decision for tomorrow’s game against the South East Melbourne Phoenix and Saturday’s game against the Illawarra Hawks.

ANGUS GLOVER

Glover suffered a partial ACL sprain in his right knee during the team’s Round 2 game against the Cairns Taipans. He has made significant strides in his rehab and will undergo additional testing at the end of this month to track his progress.

Dexter Kernich-Drew will continue as the injury replacement player for Angus.

DEJAN VASILJEVIC

As has already been reported, DJ is recovering well following the successful surgery to repair his achilles tendon on April 9.

With the activation and imminent return of Xavier Cooks, Tom Vodanovich will shift to now replace DJ as a nominated injury replacement.
