Children at The Salvation Army will be smiling ear-to-ear this festive season after receiving early Christmas presents from the Sydney Kings.
Sydney Kings’ Angus Glover and Jaylin Galloway stopped by the Salvos Macquarie Fields support network centre on Tuesday and delivered Kings gear to 10 athletes from a local basketball team linked with The Salvation Army.
Adding to this, the Kings also handed over 22 pairs of shoes, generously donated by their partner JD Sports, for the children at the Salvos Youth Oasis Surry Hills - which were accepted by Will Mataka.

Hoops Capital CEO Sean Nicholls, whose company are partnering with The Salvation Army for their historic Christmas night clash at Qudos Bank Arena, was ecstatic about how much the gear and shoes meant to the kids.
"This Christmas we're dedicated to coming together with the people from Sydney while trying to brighten their day," said Nicholls.
"We thought the idea of donating the kids Kings gear and pairs of sneakers, which are practical and allows them to be like their heroes, was perfect and we're over the moon to hear they love them."

Along with Mataka (program manager, Oasis Sydney Youth Accommodation Services at The Salvation Army), receiving the shoes on behalf of the children on Tuesday were Elizabeta Chessum (corporate partnerships at The Salvation Army), Darren Kingston (Macquarie Fields Salvos) and Major David Collinson (NSW public relations secretary at The Salvation Army) - with the latter expressing his gratitude for the donations.
“These basketball shoes will make a world of difference for the youth at Oasis," Collinson said.
"Shoes are not only a practical essential for good posture and well-being but also a sign that they are loved and belong to a community that cares for them.”
“The youth of today are often lost and not sure where to turn when adults let them down.
"By providing a pair of shoes to them shows that we believe in them and want them to pursue their dreams and they can be anyone they want to - dream big.”
