At 198cm, the talented wing will provide some added reinforcements into the Kings backcourt heading into the upcoming NBL season.
Kings CEO Chris Pongrass is pleased to be welcoming in Wani as the team continues its search for its remaining roster spots.
“Wani is an intriguing prospect, and we believe his skill set will translate well in Chase’s system. He has come from a winning program, so we know that he will join us with a similar mentality and do whatever he can to help the team win”.
“Even though Wani is coming on-board as a nominated injury replacement player, the plan for him is to remain with the team for the entire season. We see a lot of promise in what Wani can bring to this group and excited to get him to Sydney alongside our group”.
Tagged as a future star with NBA potential, Swaka Lo Buluk became the youngest player to debut for the Wildcats when he first took the court as a development player at just 17 years of age. Following his first year as a DP, he opted to forgo college basketball in the United States to begin his professional career in Australia.
An Australian representative with international experience, Swaka Lo Buluk represented the green and gold at the Under-17 FIBA World Cup, and helped the Aussie’s win a gold medal at the Under-16 FIBA Asia Championship in China where he was also named in the all-tournament team. He also represented Australia at the U19 FIBA World Cup in Greece.
Ready for his next opportunity in the NBL, Swaka Lo Buluk is excited to be joining the Kings under new Head Coach Chase Buford.
“I’m really excited to be joining the Sydney Kings”.
“It’s an exciting opportunity for me to come in and learn from Coach Buford, and the Kings are definitely on the right path to building something special”.
“I can’t wait to join the guys and get to work”.
Swaka Lo Buluk signed with the Albury Wodonga Bandits earlier this week where he will play out the remainder of the NBL1 season before joining the Kings in Sydney for pre-season.
He joins Xavier Cooks, Tom Vodanovich, Jarell Martin, Jordan Hunter, Shaun Bruce, Dejan Vasiljevic, Angus Glover and Biwali Bayles as contracted players for next season.
