The Sydney Kings have secured one of the biggest signatures in the NBL, with championship guard Kendric Davis re-signing with the club on a new two-year deal, pending league approval.
Following a season that saw him captivate the league and play a central role in delivering a championship to Sydney, KD has committed to the Kings as the club builds toward its next title pursuit.
KD arrived in Sydney last year carrying expectation and heavy scrutiny. What followed was one of the defining stories of the season and a campaign built on resilience and championship success.
Now, the journey continues.
Sydney Kings Head Coach Brian Goorjian said retaining KD was a major statement for the club. WATCH KD'S ANNOUNCEMENT VIDEO HERE
“Kendric is a competitor in every sense of the word,” Goorjian said.
“The relationship he formed with this organisation and our fans became incredibly special to watch.”
“To have him choose to continue that journey here in Sydney is enormous for our club and for the league.”
KD quickly became one of the most impactful players last season and imprinted on the Kings members and fans immediately.
Sydney Kings General Manager of Basketball Operations James Newman said retaining KD was a major priority for the club from the moment the season ended.
“Kendric and his family built a genuine connection with Sydney and with this club over the course of last season,” Newman said.
"I spoke with a lot of people through this process including his mom, his sister, and his son, and honestly those were the conversations that mattered most. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Kendric and his family back into our family for this next chapter.”
The Sydney Kings will continue preparations for NBL27 in the coming months, with membership expected to surge as excitement builds around the return of championship star Kendric Davis.
