Kings re-sign NBL champion Noi to new deal

The Sydney Kings are thrilled to announce that NBL champion Kouat Noi has agreed to a new deal with the club.

Noi, who has spent two years with the Hoops Capital club to date, has re-signed for three seasons - with the last year being a team option.

"It was a no-brainer for me to come back to the Kings," said Newcastle junior Noi, who is also thrilled to secure the long-term future of his family with this deal.

"The past two seasons in Sydney have been the best two of my basketball career to date, being able to play in front of all my friends and family along with the best fans in the country.

"The club has put me in the best position to succeed on the court, from the coaching staff, strength and conditioning team and front office, so I'm confident I can take more games to an even higher level over the next few years."

A big part of that will for Noi will be getting the chance to play for new head coach Brian Goorjian.

"Goorj's record speaks for itself and I have no doubt that I will flourish under him as a player," said Noi who's become one of the competition's top bench scorers since joining the harbour city side - averaging 10 points and 4.5 rebounds in 18.5 minutes in NBL24.

"He knows what it takes to win in this league and I have complete faith that he is going to put me and our whole team in the best position to succeed and bring home another championship to Sydney.

"I have high ambitions of where I want to get to in my basketball journey and with this great club and Goorj beside me, I'm confident I'll be able to achieve them."

Before returning for his third season with the purple and gold, Noi will spend the off-season in Darwin with NBL1 North club the Salties, alongside Kings teammate Makuach Maluach.

"I'm taking my work this off-season very seriously," the 26-year-old said.

"While in Darwin, I'm going to work as hard as I ever have to ensure I come into pre-season in the best shape of my life.

"Kings fans should expect a whole different beast when I return to Sydney for NBL25."

Kings CEO Chris Pongrass is excited to re-sign another integral part of the club's fabric.

"Kouat has been key to our success in his two years with us and see him fitting well in Brian’s system," Pongrass said.

"He was always someone we had intended on extending long-term and we are thrilled he will remain in purple and gold for the foreseeable future.

“While we have seen some change this off-season, this is the first of many longer-term deals, cementing some key building blocks for the next two to three years."
