The Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings are excited to announce they have partnered with PCYC NSW for the remainder of the NBL21 season.
The partnership is a natural fit, with basketball playing a huge role in PCYC’s work to transform young lives through getting active in life, as well as tying in nicely with the Kings commitment to promoting the sport throughout Sydney and NSW.
The partnership was launched at PCYC Auburn with Kings players, Shaun Bruce and Jordan Hunter shooting hoops with the kids; and star jumping for PCYC’s Youth Week fundraiser, the Star Jump Challenge, for its new youth mental health program.
The Kings will support PCYC NSW through teaching key basketball and leadership skills to junior players, encouraging a sense of discipline and belonging to a team, and working in collaboration to further develop basketball in local communities around NSW.
PCYC NSW CEO, Dominic Teakle, said the relationship between Kings members and fans and the PCYC community is very important to help young people reach their potential.
“We are excited to announce a community partnership between PCYC NSW and Sydney Kings for 2021. Together, we have the power to build a better, stronger future for our young people and grow the sport of basketball in Australia”.
CEO of the Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings, Chris Pongrass, said he is looking forward to reaching more young kids with the help of PCYC NSW.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with NSW PCYC – this is a building block in what we hope to be a longstanding relationship with NSW PCYC. This partnership aligns with our community vision to be a sector leader synonymous with community and social impact that relentlessly stands up, leads, demonstrates and inspires positive change through basketball, while striving to make a real difference in people’s lives.
“We know many of our members and fans are already involved with the PCYC’s across NSW, and we’re looking forward to having even more touch points into greater NSW” Pongrass said.
PCYC NSW encourages the importance of community connections and physical activity in our youth. Across PCYC’s 65 clubs in NSW, there are sixty basketball courts.
