The Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings are thrilled to announce the signing of import point-guard Jaylen Adams. Adams joins the Club following three years playing in the NBA and G-League.
Known for his prolific scoring and playmaking ability, Adams is a marksman from three-point range, averaging 40% from behind the arc in the 2019-20 season. Adams also prides himself on his defensive presence and ability to create for others; a two-way player to run the offence is exactly what the Kings front office were looking for.

Hailing from Hanover, Maryland, Adams played at Mount St. Joseph High School in Baltimore, before attending St. Bonaventure University. During his time with the Bonnies, Adams led them to their first NCAA tournament victory in 48 years with an upset win over UCLA, averaging 19.1 points, 5.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds in his senior year. He was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Year that season.
The 25-year-old most recently played with the NBA Championship winning Milwaukee Bucks on a two-way contract, alongside new Head Coach Chase Buford. He also played one season under Buford with the Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G-League, and spent time with the Portland Trailblazers and with the Atlanta Hawks.
The Kings new Head Coach who recently touched down in Australia is excited to be welcoming the talented guard down under this season.
“Jaylen does everything a modern point guard needs to be able to do” Buford said.
“He is a high-level scorer and distributor, but what I really love about him is his competitiveness on the defensive end.
“He is strong and quick, and takes pride in guarding his man. He’s a terrific teammate and leader on the court, and we can’t wait to welcome him into the group”.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Chase Buford, Adams had a standout season for the Wisconsin Herd in the NBA G League during the 2019-20 season.
He averaged 21.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.7 assists in 33 games, which earned him a spot on the 2019-20 All-NBA G League First Team and was runner up NBA G League MVP for the season. He also averaged double figures for 31 of his 33 games played, including four 30-point efforts.
Having seen the pathway paved by those before him from the Kings into the NBA, Adams is looking forward to continuing to build on his career in Sydney.
“I’m looking forward to joining the Kings and starting my NBL journey in Sydney”.
“I think what they are building down there is very exciting, and I’m looking forward to playing under Chase again after our time together in Milwaukee”.
“We have a really strong roster and I think my skillset will fit in well with the group. It’s going to be a fun season”.
Adams is the eleventh player to join the Kings roster with one local spot remaining. He joins RJ Hunter, Xavier Cooks, Tom Vodanovich, Jarell Martin, Jordan Hunter, Shaun Bruce, Dejan Vasiljevic, Angus Glover, Wani Swaka Lo Buluk (NRP) and Biwali Bayles, Makur Maker (Next Star), and Jaylin Galloway (Development Player).
The 2021-22 NBL season is set to tip off on November 18.
