With just over one month until the first-ever Pink Hoops double-header, the Sydney Kings and Flames are ramping up preparations for the massive day of basketball at Qudos Bank Arena.
The Sunday, January 14 event, which will look to build on last season's Pink Game by the Flames, will see both Hoops Capital teams turn pink - with specially designed jerseys - in support of partner, the McGrath Foundation.
"Initiatives like Pink Hoops are so important for the basketball community," said Flames assistant coach Tiana Mangakahia, who was the brainchild behind the Pink Game concept.

"Spreading positivity and helping those in need by partnering with the McGrath Foundation truly shows how much Hoops Capital cares about helping others.
"It means more than I can explain to be a part of Pink Hoops - spreading awareness and sharing my story helps others understand why this double-header matters and why it is important."
The afternoon of hoops, which will see the Flames take on Perth from 1.15pm AEDT before the Kings battle New Zealand at 3.45pm, will feature numerous activations on the day - allowing members of the Sydney basketball family to get involved as volunteers.
"Our whole organisation is excited and proud to be hosting an event like this with the McGrath Foundation, that the whole sporting community of Sydney can get involved with," said Hoops Capital executive director Paul Kind, who encouraged all Kings and Flames fand to wear pink on the day.
"Last season's Pink Game with the Flames was hugely successful and this double-header at Qudos Bank Arena will take the concept to a whole new level.
"It's shaping up as one of the biggest games on both team's calendars and I'm confident it's an event that will quickly become a marquee of the Sydney sporting landscape in summer."
Staged one week after the well-known Pink Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the McGrath Foundation is excited about this inaugural hoops event and hopes to make it a mainstay on the sporting calendar.
“It’s the McGrath Foundation’s goal to fund 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses, as we work towards our mission of ensuring that no one misses out on care," said McGrath Foundation ambassador and director Tracy Bevan, whose organisation has set up a Pink Hoops donation page here.
"Events like the Pink Hoops double-header are truly helping us to move towards that goal; we couldn’t do it without you.
"Thank you so much for pinking up and make sure you keep those three-pointers coming.”
Fans can purchase their own Pink Hoops jerseys here, with tickets to the double-header are still available here.
