Hoops Capital unveils 2024-25 award winners

On the back of a strong season on and off the court, Hoops Capital has unveiled its 2024-25 award winners, during Wednesday night's presentation dinner.
At Sydney Olympic Park's Waterview, the two top awards of the night, the Most Valuable Players (sponsored by Harvey Norman) went to Sydney Kings' Kouat Noi and Flames' Shaneice Swain.
This caps an amazing season for Newcastle product, who was recently crowned the NBL's Sixth Man of the Year, on the back of breaking numerous personal and franchise records during the 2024-25 campaign.

While Swain had a breakout season, finishing third in the league in scoring (17.5 points per game), eighth in assists (four per game) and second in triples (3.2 per game) - seeing her pen her first WNBA deal with the Los Angeles Sparks.
Numerous other Kings were recognised on the evening, attended by more than 200 patrons, were Bul Kuol (Defensive Player of the Year sponsored by AAMI), Makuach Maluach (Michael Wrublewski Coaches Award), Keli Leaupepe (Hardest Working Player Award sponsored by Hard Yakka), Shaun Bruce (Player's Player) and Alex Toohey (Members Play of the Year).
While the Flames' awards were dominated by Carla Pitman (Co-Defensive Player of the Year sponsored by AAMI, Coaches Award and Hardest Working Player Award) and Isabella Brancatisano (Player's Player and co-Defensive Player of the Year sponsored by AAMI) - with the other gong going to Celeste Taylor (Members Moment of the Year).
The final award presented on the night was the Laurie Watterson Club Person of the Year, which went to King #209 Shaun Bruce.
Flame #216 Cayla George was also acknowledged with the club's Outstanding Achievement Award after becoming the first person in WNBL history to chalk up 5,000 points and 3,500 rebounds in her career.
