As the official NBL26 pre-season nears, it means the off-season is quickly coming to an end.
That also means that the Hoops Capital club's Kings Run, allowing NBL1 East and college players to train with the club's players and coaches every Wednesday at Auburn Basketball Stadium, is also wrapping up.
Throughout the program, which spanned over three months, the club saw 83 different players take part, including 37 from NBL1, 22 from college, seven from the NBL and even three international professionals.

Upon reflection on year two of the program, Sydney's four coaches reflected on their thoughts on the program and why these initiatives are so important.
Coach Brian Goorjian: “Kings Run has been a great initiative, allowing some of the state’s top up-and-coming talent to train alongside our players and be taught by our coaches. We can’t wait to build on it in the years to come,"
Assistant coach Andrew Bogut: It’s important to give opportunities to basketballers from all over NSW to play and compete in the Kings environment."
Assistant coach Billy Tomlinson: "We started Kings Run as a way of providing a pathway for NBL1 East and college players, from as far south as Illawarra to Maitland in the north, to train in our professional environment and be a King for a day - we couldn’t be more proud of how it’s grown.”
Assistant coach Shaun Roger: "I’ve really enjoyed the Kings Run initiative – it’s been great to have NBL1 level athletes (local and imports), college returnees, and local Sydney/NSW athletes come together and play pickup on a weekly basis. It’s also always a positive to check back in with guys who have gone away and come back from the various basketball experiences, often getting significantly better and developing their game. The run also serves as an opportunity to evaluate the local basketball talent, whether that be for potential future roster spots, development players or training players' opportunities."
