Another chapter of the Shaun Bruce legacy will unfold on Friday night when he steps on an NBL court for the 300th time.
The enormity of this milestone is shown by him being just the 112th player to bring up this achievement since the NBL's inception in 1979.
"I’m really grateful to have played in the NBL for this long," said Bruce, who is just one of 14 active players to have featured in more than 300 games.
"As a kid, I dreamt of playing one game and I remember that first one like it was yesterday.
"I’m really proud of myself for finding a way to get to this point and ride the wave of highs and lows - it’s been a fun journey."

The 32-year-old, who has already played 143 fixtures for the club while guiding them to back-to-back championships, will become just the sixth to chalk up the milestone while wearing the purple and gold.
"Sydney and the Kings have been really good to me and my family, so to celebrate this milestone here means a lot," King #209 said.
"I’ve been able to have the success I’ve had here because of the type of people that make up this organisation.
"It’s a special place to play and I couldn’t be happier."
Starting his hoops journey at Horsham, Bruce went on to represent Victoria at a national level before beginning his NBL career as a development player at Cairns in 2013.
After four seasons with the Taipans, he had stints with Brisbane (two seasons) and Adelaide (one season) before joining the harbour city-based side ahead of NBL20 - where he has gone on to become one of the club's leaders on and off the court.
During those 299 games to date, he has amassed 1371 points, 640 assists, 528 rebounds, 204 triples and 106 steals.
"The people closest to me are the ones that deserve the recognition honestly," the Victoria country product said.
"From everything mum and dad have sacrificed to make this possible to the support I get from my fiancé Vee.
"I’m not here without them and I’m glad we’ve been able to share all the moments together."

In the game itself, Bruce knows what his Hoops Capital side has to do to overcome their Western Australian foes.
"It’s just about being who we know we can be for as long as is needed," the guard said.
"Perth are playing great and looks a lot different to who we saw earlier in the season.
"We’ve done a great job in the first part of the year sharing the ball and playing together and that’s a big part of our identity.
"You need to play that way in a hostile environment like Perth."
Friday's round nine fixture tips off at 9.30pm AEDT.
