Bogut excited for Cooks' chance with Wizards

With 706 NBA games to his name, Sydney Kings co-owner Andrew Bogut knows what it takes to excel in the world's best basketball league.
During his time in the United States, Bogut spent time with Milwaukee, Golden State, Dallas Cleveland and the Los Angeles Lakers - a career that spanned 15 seasons.

And following Monday's news that Kings star Xavier Cooks had penned a two-year deal with the Washington Wizards, the 2015 NBA Champion with Golden State is confident the NBL23 MVP can follow in his footsteps and excel in the US.
"This is huge for Xave - it's a dream come true for him and I'm so glad he finally gets this opportunity," Bogut said.
"Obviously [as a club], we're disappointed to see him go but at the same time, we're really proud of what he's gone through to get to this point - going to Europe and coming back and dealing with all types of injuries - as well as the body of work he's put in.

"To be able to come back and solidify himself as one of the best players in the NBL and get an NBA deal is bittersweet, as we'd love to have him back but we couldn't be more excited to watch his journey unfold."
Cooks, in what could be his last game as a King in Sydney, and his Hoops Capital side will host game three of the NBL23 Championship Grand Final Series at Qudos Bank Arena on Friday, March 10 from 7.15pm AEDT are still available here.
