Kings guard Biwali Bayles will wear a special pair of Kyrie Flytrap 5s, painted by Indigneous artist Stewart James; in Sunday's Indigneous Round clash at Qudos Bank Arena.
James is the artist behind the design of the Kings' Indigenous jersey this season and was commissioned to create a special pair of shoes for Bayles, who will wear them against Cairns this weekend.

The Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings were presented with their Indigenous jerseys by the artist on Friday afternoon as part of a special presentation for Indigenous Round.

After practice, CEO Chris Pongrass did an acknowledgement of country and the team listened to James talk about the process of making the design and the struggles of being an Indigenous Australian.
The players were presented with their jerseys by James one by one.
Bayles spoke with Kings media after the event on what the presentation meant to him.
“It means a lot, he designed the jerseys and painted my shoes,” he said.
“To get more of our people involved, not only in sports but in other areas as well. To see other Indigenous people doing well, it’s good to see.”

Kings Co-Owner and Chairman Paul Smith described it as a moving event and an important one to learn how we can better support our Indigenous communities.
“I think the fact that Stewart was there and spoke so passionately about how he did it, why he did it and why we are doing this collectively," Smith said.
"The buy-in of our squad and organisation has been spectacular. You can’t script this sort of stuff, it just comes to together and made it so special.”
The Kings will take on the Cairns Taipans on Sunday, March 6 at 2.45pm at Qudos Bank Arena. If you haven’t already gotten your tickets click here.
