Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings point-guard Casper Ware has capped off the end of a rollercoaster NBL21 regular season by being awarded the Club’s 2020-21 Most Valuable Player honours.
Ware averaged 18 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds per game this season, on par with the best of his NBL career, including a career high 40-point game against the Cairns Taipans at Qudos Bank Arena in April.
The NBL’s best two-way player also took out the Kings Defensive Player of the Year honours for his tireless work on the defensive end.
Craig Moller was awarded the Mike Wrublewski Coaches’ Award by the Kings coaches, and both Shaun Bruce and Jordan Hunter were the recipients of the Players’ Player of the Year award, as voted by their teammates.
Other recipients include Jarell Martin who was the winner of the Hostplus Members’ Player of the Year, as voted by the Club’s loyal members, and Katrina Lindner took out the Laurie Watterson Clubman of the Year for her outstanding contributions in and around the Club.
The Club also acknowledged Lauren Mansfield who took out the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames Most Valuable Player award for the 2020-21 WNBL season.
Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings CEO congratulated the award recipients and reflected on the season.
“In what was an incredible finish to our NBL21 Season, I could not be prouder of our Club has achieved this year despite all the challenges we faced. Our players and staff have worked tirelessly and should all be recognised for their enormous contribution to our success.”
“Congratulations to our Kings NBL21 Award recipients – Casper, Craig, Shaun, Jordi, Jarell and Kat – you were all well deserving of the recognition” Pongrass shared.
