The Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings have announced Wani Swaka Lo Buluk will be upgraded to the full roster spot and that the club has parted ways with import RJ Hunter.
Wani, who was originally signed to the Kings squad as an injury replacement player, has been upgraded as a fully contracted player following some exemplary performances on court this season.
Wani is having a career season, averaging 6.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, including being on of the key defensive pieces to the teams starting unit.
The Sudanese-Australian 20-year-old started his career for the Perth Wildcats in the 2018-19 season, but joined the Kings in the off season.
The upgrade comes as Wani, a two-time NBL champion, helped the Kings take down his former club on Sunday at Qudos Bank Arena.
The club has confirmed it has released import RJ Hunter, who sustained a season-ending knee injury against the Illawarra Hawks two weeks ago.
Hunter had only been able to take the court three times, hampered by knee soreness. The club is continuing its search for a replacement import and wish RJ the best in his recovery.
