The Sydney Kings organisation extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Bendat and Perth Wildcats families on the passing of Jack Bendat.
The legendary Wildcats owner, WA businessman and philanthropist passed away last Thursday just shy of his 97th birthday but leaves behind an enormous legacy which will stand the test of time.
“As the leader of the Wildcats organisation, Mr Bendat created a dynasty which is recognised globally as one of the best in sport,” Kings Co-owner and Chairman Paul Smith said.
“I only met Jack on one occasion, it was after a Wildcats win, he took it easy on me. There’s no doubt he took the Perth Wildcats and their already proud history to a new level that is the standard that all NBL clubs strive for.”
“All in the NBL and indeed the Sydney Kings owe Jack Bendat a debt of gratitude for what he achieved for our sport in this country.
“To the Bendat family, the Wildcats organisation, the Red Army and the WA community, our thoughts are with you.”
