"Those two wins were really big for us, as we feel like we're starting to find some good form as a group when it matters most."

The play of young gun Alex Toohey has been a big part of the Sydney Kings' success this season, with the Canberra-born forward impacting the game in so many ways.

In particular, he played clutch roles in both the Hoops Capital side's round 15 victories over South East Melbourne and Brisbane.

"Those two wins were really big for us, as we feel like we're starting to find some good form as a group when it matters most," the NBL Next Star said in an interview with the Big Sports Breakfast Show on Tuesday.

"We've got about a month until finals and it feels like we're really figuring out each other's tendencies on the court but as they say, winning means you're doing something right and we're just trying to build on that.

"And personally, I'm happy with my own play - both shooting the ball well and doing the little things the coaches are asking me to do."

Toohey's harbour city side will look to make it three straight wins and move into outright second when they host Melbourne United on Thursday at Qudos Bank Arena.

"We've reflected on our past results against Melbourne and despite them struggling a little bit of late, we know the firepower they have in their squad," King #240 said.

"If we contain their guard play and three-point shooting, forcing them into the paint and into our team defence, I'm confident we can get the result."

Thursday's round 16 game tips off at 7.15pm, with tickets still available here.
