The inseparable bond of Angus and Allan Glover

Every father and his son share special connections but you'll be hard-pressed to find one more unique than that of the Glovers.
Allan, the father of Sydney Kings' Angus, actually donated part of his hamstring to his son's knee, to help repair his left ACL tear in June 2018.
“I can still vividly sitting down in the surgeon’s room with my family about my options and the doctors were discussing using a deceased person’s hamstring,” Angus said.
“The surgeon then looked at dad and said his would work too and without hesitation, dad said yes - which shows the kind of person he is.
“I’m super grateful for that and every other thing he’s done for me during my life - which is just a small part of the bond we share as father and son.
“Being an only child, he and mum have put a huge amount of time and sacrifice into my life and I’ll also try to repay them wherever I can.”

Since then, the pair, as well as Angus’ mother Mandy, have shared some everlasting memories together through hoops.
“Mandy and I couldn’t be prouder of the person Angus has become and everything he’s achieved thus far, including last season’s championship - which is something our family will never forget,” said Allan, who’s been involved in Angus’ basketball journey since his junior days in Illawarra.
“The surreal moment will always stick with me that Angus came over and wanted to share that title moment with his family straight after the final siren - including going up to see his grandfather.
“As a family, we celebrate all the highs - which definitely outweigh the lows - together and go through the process of lows as one - all those moments and adversity, both mental and physical, have definitely made us tighter.
“Ever since a young age, we’ve supported and encouraged all his endeavours in life, which are more often than not, done with a smile on his face, which highlights the person he is.
“We can’t wait to see what else our life together has in store.”
