An absolute warrior in purple and gold, Brucey has been the heart of the Sydney Kings during this time and a major part of building our connection and championship success.
Decisions like these are never easy in professional sport, and this one has been one of the hardest the club has had to make.
“Brucey has given everything to this club from the moment he arrived, and we are proud of what we have achieved together,” said Luc Longley, Sydney Kings Co-owner.
“What he has achieved with the Kings, on and off the court, is something very few players can claim. He has three championships under his belt and will go down as one of the greats.
“This decision has been incredibly difficult because of who Brucey is as a person and as a teammate.
“We know that he has a bright future and he will always be a part of our Kings legacy. We wish him and his family all the best for their next chapter ahead.”
Over the past seven years, the club has shared in some of the most important moments in his life including his marriage to his wonderful partner Virginia, the birth of his first son Rocky, and most recently welcoming his second son Rio.
Brucey said Sydney and the Kings will always be a special place for him and his family. “I want to sincerely thank the Sydney Kings for everything over the past seven years. Through the highs and the challenges, you’ve given me a platform to continue growing as both a player and a person.”
“Sydney will always be a special place for my family, and it will bring me a lot of pride to return to Qudos Bank one day with Vee, Rocky and Rio to see the three banners we were able to raise together.”
