The Sydney Kings have signed Australian guard Jayden Stone on a one-year contract for the NBL27 season, pending league approval.
Stone comes to Sydney after an impressive collegiate career in the US, most recently with the Missouri Tigers.
The 193cm Perth product averaged 14.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 52 per cent from the field and nearly 40 per cent from three-point range during his final NCAA campaign.
Kings General Manager of Basketball Operations James Newman said Stone's character impressed the club as much as his on-court ability.
"We couldn't be more excited about the person and the player," Newman said.
"Jayden is a dynamic two-way guard who impacts the game in so many ways. He has succeeded at the highest level of college basketball and showed genuine resilience in getting there.
"What stood out in every conversation was his mindset, and he's coming to Sydney to get better every day and to help drive winning.
“That's exactly what we want in a Kings uniform."
Stone's path to professional basketball has been shaped by perseverance. After overcoming significant setbacks during his college career, he returned to produce the best basketball of his life and help Missouri compete in one of the toughest conferences in college basketball.
Now, the 25-year-old returns home to begin the next chapter of his career with the Kings.
