Something for Sydney is taking shape

The Sydney Kings are taking their season launch out of the function room and into the heart of the city.
There will be no ballroom. No stage. No traditional cocktail party.
Instead, the reigning NBL champions are taking NBL27 to the streets.
Right now, something is taking shape in Sydney: a permanent tribute to the champions, the people behind banner number six and the city that stood with them throughout an unforgettable championship run.
The work will bring three defining figures from last season - Brian Goorjian, Xavier Cooks and Finals MVP Kendric Davis - to the streets of Sydney.
Goorjian, the most successful coach in NBL history. Cooks, now a three-time champion with the club. Davis, whose extraordinary Finals series helped deliver Sydney its sixth championship.
But this is bigger than three people.
It is a celebration of an entire team, and a thank you to the city that helped carry it to the championship.
Tomorrow, the complete work will be revealed.
Then, on Sunday 20 September, the Kings will return to Afterpay Arena to raise banner number six before beginning the pursuit of another against the Cairns Taipans.
Be there when the banner rises.
