Sydney Kings big man Tim Soares has helped his Brazilian national team secure a crucial road victory over the United States (94-79), in their 2023 FIBA World Cup Americas Qualifiers fixture.
In Washington DC, Soares totalled five points, four rebounds and one block in 25.04 minutes, as Brazil snapped a three-game losing streak to move to within one game (6-3) of their US counterparts (7-2) in their pool.

These teams will see each other once again in the very last game of the competition, with the rubber match scheduled for February 23, 2023, in Brazil.
The victory by Soares' squad was set up by winning the statistical categories of field goal percentage (54.1 to 41.9), three-point percentage (41.7 to 26.9), rebounds (40-32) and blocks (4-2).
Next up for Brazil is a clash with Mexico on November 15 in Chihuahua City.
