RJ Hunter and Makur Maker will miss the Boxing Day clash against Melbourne United at Qudos Bank Arena and both are expected to be sidelined for several weeks.
RJ is expected to miss the next three weeks while he rehabilitates ongoing knee soreness related to a patella tendon.
RJ will progress through a graduated gym and court program before reintegrating into team basketball activities in mid January.
After a pre-season interrupted by hotel quarantine and isolation, the decision has been made to allow RJ to build a consistent training base to allow him to return to play in optimal condition.
Development player Iggy Mitchell will replace RJ Hunter in the side.
Makur has been ruled out after scans demonstrated bone stress in his left ankle.
“Mk” will be re-evaluated in three weeks.
