Sydney Kings guard Tyler Robertson will miss the remainder of the NBL26 season after suffering a high grade AC joint injury during our last regular season game against Brisbane Bullets.
Robertson will undergo surgery this week and begin rehabilitation with the club’s medical team following the procedure.
The injury ends what has been a career-defining season for the 25 year old, who has emerged as a key contributor for the Kings.
Across the season, Robertson consistently stepped up when called upon, providing impact off the bench and establishing himself as one of the team’s most reliable offensive threats.
His three-point shooting and composure in big moments played an important role in the Kings’ success.
Robertson’s importance to the group was clear, with his teammates voting him Player’s Player at the Club’s Season Awards.
Kings Head Coach Brian Goorjian said Robertson’s loss was disappointing, but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to respond.
“Tyler has had an outstanding season, and this is obviously tough news for him and for our group,” Goorjian said.
“He’s stepped up every time we’ve needed him and his growth this year has been significant.
“One of our strengths all season has been our depth, and while we’d love to have Tyler out there with us, we have great belief in this group and our ability to perform heading into finals.
“Our focus now is supporting Tyler through his recovery and having him ready for the future.”
Robertson will be replaced in the line up by Lueth Awan and we will provide further updates on his recovery as appropriate.
