NBL launches Summer Shootout competition

Defence will be put to the test and one lucky fan will take home $100k in January during the NBL’s Summer Shootout competition – an innovative and never-before-seen concept set to create new rivalries and encourage exciting, high-scoring basketball.
Each team has been asked to nominate an away opponent which they think they can score the most points against, and the away team that records the highest score across the 10 Summer Shootout games will collect $50,000.
The fan who chooses the club that scores the highest points in their Summer Shootout game and correctly predicts their score will be in the running to win $100,000.

“We are so excited to see the Summer Shootout come to life in January,” NBL chief fans, club and strategy officer, Anthony Everard said.
"The concept aims to encourage higher-scoring and we hope it creates some fierce competition with an incredible prize pool of $150,000 up for grabs.
“High-scoring, high-energy games are what we want to see as we head towards the Finals.
“We hope the Summer Shootout will also generate new rivalries as the home team will do everything they can to stop the challenging side running up a high score against them."

The 10 Summer Shootout games will be revealed on Thursday night at 7:30pm AEDT live on ESPN.
“We hope fans tune into ESPN on Thursday night to see which teams have been nominated and the dates for our 10 Summer Shootout matches,” Everard said.
The chance for fans to enter the competition will go live at 7.30pm Thursday night, and fans can enter via www.nbl.com.au.
