Jarrad Weeks has today signed with the Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings as an injury replacement player for the remainder of the NBL21 season.
Weeks was recently released from his contract with the New Zealand Breakers where he spent the past two and a half seasons, to return home to Sydney be with his family.
The athletic guard previously spent time with the Kings as a development player from 2010-2014, before having a breakout NBL season in 2015-16 with the Illawarra Hawks.
Weeks will add some much-needed support to the Kings roster who currently hold down third spot on the ladder with five rounds to go, despite being heavily impacted by injuries.
“Being a Sydney boy, we’ve been very fortunate to land a local talent and someone of Jarrad’s calibre at this point in the season” Kings CEO Chris Pongrass said.
“He’ll provide some much-needed relief to our guard rotation with our current injuries list and Didi’s call-up, as well as the added benefit of being in game-shape so he can hit the ground running.”
The Kings continue their fight for a spot in the NBL21 Finals this Sunday when they face the Adelaide 36ers at Qudos Bank Arena to celebrate Heritage Round. Tickets are available at ticketek.com.au/sydneykings
