Kings shatter records during win over Bullets

Jaylen Adams' scoring efforts was just one of the historic performances by a King on Sunday.

Sunday's win by the Sydney Kings over the Brisbane Bullets was an impressive one in many ways, as many team and player records were broken.

Firstly, guard Jaylen Adams became the first Sydney Kings player in history ever to score at least 30 points (32) coming off the bench, overtaking the previous mark of 26 by Kouat Noi.

Here are the other notable stats from Sunday:

  • The Kings held the Bullets to just eight points in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win; the fewest points conceded by the purple and gold in a fourth quarter this season and the equal fewest points conceded in any quarter in NBL25.
  • Sydney’s offence is starting to heat up – over the past three games the Kings have averaged 96.3ppg, the highest offensive output in a three-game stretch this season.
  • Shaun Bruce at 177 games is just two games shy of getting into the top five all-time in games played in franchise history (Mark Dalton – 179).
  • Xavier Cooks has jumped past Julian Khazzouh to go into third place all-time in career blocked shots (138) for the Kings - with King #217 now just trailing Matthew Nielsen (357) and Mark Dalton has (145)
  • Over the past two games, Xavier Cooks (668) leapt past Sydney Kings legend Damian Keogh (667) and Sydney Kings foundation member Marc Ridlen (659) to go into third place all-time in franchise history for career defensive rebounds.
  • The NBL23 MVP is now top five all-time in franchise history for total rebounds (943). He is just 14 rebounds shy of Marc Ridlen’s 957 in fourth place.

 The Hoops Capital side  now head back to New Zealand to take on the Breakers at Spark Arena on Friday, December 20 from 5.30pm AEDT on ESPN.

The Kings’ next home game is on Wednesday, December 25 when they’ll host Freeway Series rivals Illawarra for their annual Christmas night clash.
