Kings making waves in NBL1

Our Kings had a busy weekend with their NBL1 teams, many putting up strong performances.
Over in the South, Dejan Vasiljevic played back-to-back games for Diamond Valley. Starting off with Knox Raiders on Saturday night DJ dropped 15 points, seven rebounds, and three assists as his side wnt down by just five points. Vasiljevic continued his strong form against the Geelong Supercats, putting up 18 points, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win for his team.

The boys in the North also had a good weekend. Jordan Hunter returned from injury this week with his first match on Friday against the Logan Thunder. Hunter went on to score 21 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, contributing to his team’s win. Just 24 hours later, Hunter returned to the court to deliver 13 points. 7 rebounds, and two assists, although despite his strong efforts, went down to the Southwest Metros.
Teammates Biwali Bayles and Jaylin Galloway also had a great performance on the weekend with their team, the Mackay Meteors. Bayles recorded a triple double _ 10 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists. Galloway put up 24 points, 4 rebounds, and two assists to lead Mackay victory over Townsville.

Moving across to New Zealand, Xavier Cooks had two games this week for his team, the Wellington Saints. In is first game against the Nelson Giants, Cooks delivered 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists, contributing to his team’s win. During his second game, Cooks continued his strong performance against the Franklin Bulls, scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and two assists.
