The Sydney Kings are heading back to Canberra and this season, we're doing it twice.
Following last season's unforgettable sold-out Ignite Cup clash against the Adelaide 36ers, which saw the Kings storm back from 18 points down to win in overtime, the reigning NBL champions will return to the nation's capital for two blockbuster games in NBL27.
The Kings will first host the New Zealand Breakers at AIS Arena on Wednesday 14 October, marking the first time Sydney will face former King and fan favourite Kouat Noi since his move across the Tasman.
The team then returns to Canberra on Thursday 17 December to take on the Cairns Taipans, who boast a talented roster featuring Jack McVeigh, Keanu Pinder, Shaun Bruce and Luke Paul.
AIS delivered a game of the year
Last season's trip to Canberra delivered a thriller. In front of a packed AIS Arena, the Kings produced a stunning comeback, overturning an 18-point deficit before Kendric Davis forced overtime with a coast-to-coast lay-up and Sydney eventually claimed a thrilling 97-93 victory.
The atmosphere, the crowd and the appetite for elite basketball in Canberra made one thing clear: once wasn't enough.
