The Sydney Kings' Harvey Norman roadshow, supported by AAMI, to Newcastle, has been hailed a huge success by all involved.
The three-day regional tour to the Hunter region included a clinic at the Newcastle Basketball Association, visits to Corpus Christi Primary School Waratah and Elermore Vale Public School and an in-store appearance at Harvey Norman Bennetts Green.
Hoops Capital executive director Matthew Denholm was thrilled by the impact the roadshow had on the up-and-coming basketballers of the Hunter region.
"We want to thank all our fans in the Hunter and Newcastle region who came out to support our visit," Denholm said.

"This visit showed that basketball is booming in the region, and we hope to be back in the future to play a game and interact with the community again."
Echoing Denholm's thoughts was Harvey Norman's general manager sponsorships Samantha Waters, who was excited by the success of the regional tour.
“It was so great to see so many happy kids, fans and families turn up for our local Newcastle store to meet the Kings on Saturday," Waters said.

"These regional tours leave such a lasting impact on the local community, seeing the huge smiles as young kids get to meet their sporting idols for the first time and fans getting up close and personal for signings and even shooting a hoop or two with the players.
"Supporting the roadshow of the Kings to Newcastle is what we are about, the store visit, the school visits and the free clinics – it’s grassroots, it strengthens the pathways and helps inspire our next generation of basketball players.”
Along with Hoops Capital co-owner and special advisor Luc Longley, another prominent guest at the club's Friday school visit was Newcastle MP Sharon Claydon.

“It was great to see the team investing their time in our local students, holding a clinic at Corpus Christi Primary School in Waratah.
“This opportunity will no doubt inspire the next generation of Novocastrian basketballers.”
The harbour city side will hit the hardwood this Friday night at 7.30pm, hosting the New Zealand Breakers in a pre-season fixture at Quaycentre - with tickets still available here.
