Ian Clark has answered the "million-dollar question"

Despite joining mid-season and not playing for a professional team since April last year, NBA champion Ian Clark has fit into the Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings seamlessly.
When he first arrived in the country back in February, Clark was asked how he can add his leadership and his game into the Kings playing group mid-season without intruding on the team.
“That’s the million-dollar question,” he told Kings media.
“That’s exactly where I am at this point [before playing for the team]. I’ve been one of the younger guys on most of the teams I’ve played on. It wasn’t really a leadership role I was portraying, I don’t look at myself like that here either.
“I see myself more as ‘I’m learning from you and you are learning from me’, being able to share my experience but I have also asked more questions than anybody since joining obviously.”
Ian Clark is undefeated in a Kings jersey, and he unequivocally answered that million-dollar question on Saturday night. He scored 19 points in under 20 minutes against the Wildcats and has been one of our best perimeter defenders since joining the team.

The spark plug off the bench role is something Clark is very familiar with, it was his primary role with the 2017 Golden State Warriors championship team. He told the Pick and Roll recently, he just plays his role no matter the situation.
“Whether I’m here, whether I’m in the NBA, you’ve got to play your role,” he told the Pick and Roll.
“I think that when things are needed, you can show and perform, and when they’re not, you don’t need to. You need to balance that with trying to be as consistent as you want to be as a player.
“That’s something I try to do very well, just being very efficient and consistent, whether that’s on the defensive end, talking, bringing my energy or whatever it is, I just try to be consistent.”
With six games under his belt, Clark reflected on the “million-dollar question” in the post-game press conference after the win over the Wildcats.
“I think every game is a building block for us, for me personally and for the team as a collective,” he said.
“Like coach said we want to come in and be like dogs, and me personally, I just want to win. You can tell by the box score we won by committee … I think every game we just want to continue to grow.”
NBL commentator and Kings expert Matt McQuade wrote after the Perth game that Clark's just scratching the surface of his potenial in the team.
“What’s scary for the rest of the league is we still haven’t seen what Ian Clark is truly capable of,” McQuade wrote.
The Kings have seven games left, and if Clark has done this much in only six games, the Kings’ ceiling could be raised to another level by Ian Clark’s growing impact game by game.
You can get your tickets to see Ian Clark and the Kings live at home against the Adelaide 36ers on Sunday, April 17 at 3pm and Sunday, April 24 at 3pm at Qudos Bank Arena in our last two home games here.
