During National Reconciliation Week (NRW) from May 27 to June 3, Hoops Capital, along with the National Basketball League (NBL) and Women's National Basketball League (WNBL), reaffirms its commitment to reconciliation through our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
NRW provides an important opportunity for people to come together and continue to learn about their shared histories, cultures, and achievements.
It’s a time of reflection on the past and exploration of ways they can contribute to a more inclusive future.

People are encouraged to reflect on their progress towards reconciliation and how they can help to close the gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
Encouraging reconciliation and improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is a responsibility that the Sydney Kings and Flames take very seriously.
The dates of May 27 and June 3 commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey - the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision, respectively.
This year's NRW theme, Bridging Now to Next, calls on all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.

It reflects the ongoing connection between past, present, and future, urging us to build upon our shared history to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
In alignment with this theme, Hoops Capital, NBL and WNBL came together to reflect and learn, expressing our gratitude to Elders Aunty Eva Jo Edwards and Uncle Ricky Baldwin for their shared stories.
Their wisdom and guidance are invaluable as we continue our journey towards reconciliation.
As we commemorate NRW 2025, we reaffirm our commitment to reconciliation and to walking together towards a more inclusive future.
