Sydney Kings Championship Series hero Angus Glover has revealed the injury he suffered during the decisive game five that almost kept him out of the second half of the contest.
Glover was in visible pain in the opening minutes of the second half and was seen hunched over on the bench struggling to breathe.
Speaking on The Huddle with Liam Santamaria, Glover discussed his heroic game five performance off the back of signing a new two-year deal with the Kings.

“I went for a lay-up and [Jarrell] Brantley walled up really well," Glover said.
"I must’ve caught some part of his body right on the spot and I felt it from there on,” he said.
“I damaged a bit of cartilage next to the ribs and sternum. Then on top of that what was the main discomfort was the ab, I was basically running over the top of it and it was spasming really bad.
“I was okay and then half-time came and I was starting to cough and wasn’t feeling well at all, struggling to breathe a bit.
“During the game, I just had to grit my teeth and keep going.

“So my most comfortable position was being hunched forward. It was the top ab so I was struggling to breathe through my chest because every time I would do that it would stretch, and same for my stomach every time I tried to breathe.
“It was more just, I couldn’t stand up because of that spasm."
Despite the injury, Glover dropped 11 points in the second half, and a trio of back-to-back-to-back clutch plays in the final quarter - two offensive and one defensive - helped turn the tide of momentum in the final quarter.

The crucial tide-turning moment of the game was Glover collecting an offensive rebound off of his own missed three, before throwing down a dunk through three Breakers defenders.
“I just like fighting for my team,” Glover said.
“I’m willing to give whatever I’ve got out there, people saw what I was like in game five.”

Glover will take to the court for the Eltham Wildcats in the NBL1 South over the course of the NBL off-season and will focus on developing different aspects of his game alongside a young core of NBL-level teammates.
He'll link up with Melbourne-based stars Owen Foxwell and Callum Dalton within the group, alongside former United guard Sam Short.
“NBL1 is where we work on our thing, we work on our craft and try a couple of new things here and there,” Glover said.
“I’ll come in and try and work a bit more off the bounce, my playmaking.
“I’m one of the old heads on the team, so trying to be a bit more of a leader. I’m not too fussed on numbers, I really don’t care. I just want to win and be known as a winner wherever I go.
“We’ve got a pretty good group to do that, playing with Owen Foxwell and Callum Dalton who are NBL guys as well, and Sam Short who is the next NBL guy,” he said.
