For a professional athlete, trusting the process and remaining patient is sometimes as hard as any challenge they face.
But not for Sydney Kings guard Angus Glover, who's dealt with countless injury adversities during his fledging hoops career.
So being told to pull back on his on-court commitments, including playing with Sutherland in NBL1 East, and focus on rehab this off-season, Glover took it in his stride - to ensure he was ready for the tip-off of NBL23.

"Towards the end of last season, my knee developed a little bit of a niggle but with us being on our championship run, I just managed it and continued to play," Glover said.
"On the back of that, the coaching staff and I thought it was best for me not to play NBL1 and just try and get to right through rest and rehab - especially as last year was so long and taxing and it such a quick turnaround before NBL23."
That rehab is not too dissimilar to the routine Glover has done since injuring his knee for the first time in August 2015, involving a lot of stretching, strength and mobility exercises, hands-on physio sessions and icing.
With that behind him now, the 23-year-old has now returned to doing light on-court work, with eyes to being ready for the October 1 opener against his former club Illawarra.
"It's been a gradual process but we're definitely on top of it and all signs, thanks to our amazing staff, are pointing towards me being out there with the boys come round one," said Glover, who won't play in the Kings' three NBL Blitz fixtures in Darwin.

"I went through some strength testing this week and my scores have gone up again and are as the strongest they've been while here at the Kings.
"For them to be where they are now, with how my leg is feeling, is a really positive sign with close to two months left until we tip-off our championship defence.
"All of us boys know defending that title is going to be even harder than winning it, as we now have that target on our backs but the squad we have assembled is unreal and we're all keen to get out there and represent the city of Sydney the best we can."
